• Represent Lehigh at spring and fall college fairs in your community, in order to make personal connections with more prospective students and families and expand the reach of the Office of Admissions
• Conduct face-to-face or Skype interviews for applicants in the area or abroad, providing both information about the university, and returning details about the interaction to the Office of Admissions
• Help to identify prospective students in the community and act as a Lehigh resource for them
• Attend Admitted Student Receptions (April), Student Sendoffs (July and August) and regional information programs (September and October) to meet prospective students and families, answer questions, and provide insights on your own Lehigh experiences
• Exemplify the idea of the Lehigh Family and inform prospective families about the value of a Lehigh education
• Contact admitted students (April) to invite them to Admitted Student Receptions, or simply congratulate them on being admitted.
Volunteer Skill Set and Requirements:
• Initial training is self-directed, and the quiz must be completed. Volunteers must remain up-to-date on the Lehigh of today.
• High comfort level with email and online surveys, Skype experience a plus.
• Keep Lehigh University updated of any and all address/email/phone number changes.
• Personable with great people skills; willing and able to share appropriate and relevant personal Lehigh experiences with others.
• A commitment to providing honest, objective, timely feedback on students who are interested in the university .
• Volunteers must recuse themselves from volunteering to interview if they have a child applying to Lehigh for that current admissions cycle.
• A dedication to confidentiality for students and their families throughout the admissions process.
