CISH Volunteer

Purpose: 
Provide support to help our international community of students and scholars feel at home during their time at Lehigh.

1. Hosting home-cooked meals
2. Inviting guests to community events
3. Providing temporary housing before or during breaks
4. Providing local transportation to (doctor appointments, etc.)
5. Storing personal belongings over the summer
6. Acting as a good will ambassador to our international guests

Volunteers may participate just once or become more involved in ongoing programming and activities.
Additional Time Requirements: 
Volunteers are welcome to attend monthly meetings in order to find out what’s new at CISH and to meet other volunteers who share an interest in the international community.

Other CISH activities that need volunteers:
• Marketing
o As easy as talking to other like-minded Lehigh Valley community members or passing out CISH information cards at local churches/synagogues/mosques/other organizations
• Events
o Socials—Occasionally CISH will have an event in order to raise awareness of the organization and what it provides to Lehigh’s international community. Members would have the opportunity to attend and help in any way they like.
o Lehigh’s International Bazaar—Members help by staffing a table at the yearly bazaar in order to advertise CISH to students, scholars, and other bazaar attendants who may want to get involved with CISH.
o New Student Orientation—CISH members are sometimes the first faces our new international see when they come to Lehigh! Interested members participate in a welcome activity like an afternoon of board games and snacks.
